My trips to Mexico have given me hours to spend in the small Monterrey airport while waiting for my departure. This morning I spent time in the Dufry store. The country's smoking warnings are much more visible and direct than those in the states.

Fixed It
I can't imagine anyone staying at this location for any other reason beyond business. At least the hotel was festive during the holiday season.
There's something good to be said for sitting in a holiday decorated gazebo with low 70's temperatures.
The thought of going home was much better.

Henry Ford Was Right, Sort Of.
"Any customer can have a car painted any colour that he wants so long as it is black."... Henry Ford
You got the color wrong Mr. Ford. The customer gets white.

Eggs at Room Temperature?
On a recent trip to Mexico I noted that, unlike the U.S., eggs were not refrigerated when sold in stores. I wondered why. Apparently many other countries vaccinate hens for salmonella. The vaccination is not required in the US. Since over 100,000 people are sickened with salmonella each year, it is an easy safeguard to refrigerate eggs. Apparently the shelf life of a room temperature egg decreases quickly when compared to refrigeration. Most sources said seven days. I am sure we've never eaten a dozen eggs in seven days.

The Drink of Mexico's Astrunauts
We had just found a cache dedicated to Tang and were wondering whether Tang was still made. I guess this answers the question. I was in a 7-Eleven in Apodaca to buy soda when I noticed the Tang packets. I bought the two in the picture then thought better of bringing them back since I had only two carry-ons. Too bad, I really wanted to try Mango Tang.

Chevy Tornado
The Chevy Tornado is one of those global vehicles which is not available in the states. The vehicle is sold in Brazil as the Chevy Montana and is based on an old European Opel platform. Anyone who remembers the old Chevy pick-up/car hybrid called the El Camino will be familiar with this concept. The Tornado is equipped only with a 4-cylinder and a five-speed transmission. In this US day of re-awakened fuel economy, the four wouldn't be a problem, but not many of us in the stateside can handle a manual transmission. The bed is a little short, but it holds a half-ton payload.
