El Paso

I'm not certain Marty Robbins would approve, but I thought this was truly funny.

Commemorating a Terrorist

Sears and Kmart are at death's door.  Their desperation gives them no better reason to sell a t-shirt praising a domestic terrorist.  Let both these stores fade a final death.

Yard Work Calls... I Guess I Should Go

Rail 66 Bike Trail

It's hard to miss this bike trail parking sign.

It's a pleasant trail and worth a visit.  I wouldn't worry too much about finding the parking lot.  😉

99

My Dad's birthday just passed.  He would have been 99 this year.  I happened to hear this song and think of him.

I didn't really think about it when we stopped to find a geocache at a small railroad park, but he would have been so happy to visit there.

He loved trains.  I spent a day with them at the Nickel Plate Museum in his later years.  He got to sit in the engineer's seat in one of the engines.  The years have flown by since he left.

First Flight Lunar Lander Park

This half-scale model of the lunar lander from Apollo 11 is located on Route 422 in Warren, Ohio.  The park is the former location of Warren Airways where Neil Armstrong took his first flight in a Ford Tri-motor.  Armstrong later became the first person to walk on the moon in 1969.

Maybe This Year Is Next Year

I spotted these baseballs while geocaching in a small rural park.  Maybe 2021 will be a better year for everyone and include a little baseball.

Warren Ohio Art

I was in Warren, Ohio for a short afternoon of geocaching.  Since I have a terrible sense of direction I made a wrong turn onto a residential street.  The street eventually ended at a small park.  On the way to the park I noticed a large piece of art on a residential corner.  On the drive back to where I made the wrong turn I stopped for a few images.

I've tried to find more information for the piece, but Warren's local news has no information I can locate.  Enjoy this interesting piece.  It is out of the way and not likely to be seen by many.

Love Stinks

It's been over forty years since J. Geils released Love Stinks.  While popular at the time, it is always surprising to see what was probably a youth leaving chalk art with the song title from 1980.  This was on the all-purpose trail along Cleveland Metroparks' Valley Parkway.  Enjoy a step back in time with the J. Geils Band.  I enjoyed the chalk art.

I think I'll take a penalty stroke.
